                                ABOUT CASTLE ROCK FARM

Castle Rock Farm is a 170 acre facility located in the rolling hills of Chester County, Pennsylvania. Dating back to 1713, it has been owned and operated by the Giangiulio family since 1957. Over the years, the family has bred and raced several outstanding Pennsylvania-breds such as Power By Far, Foxy J.G., Power By Leigh, Mr. First, and many others.

The emphasis has always been on producing successful homebreds for the farm and its clients. To that end, over the years, Castle Rock Farm has stood several of Pennsylvania’s leading stallions. Sires such as Mister Pitt and Leematt have called Castle Rock Farm home.

Peter Giangiulio and his sister, Barbara Geraghty, have owned the farm since 1979. Peter is a lifelong horseman, who has served on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association (PHBA) for nearly 40 years. He was PHBA President from 2005 to 2010. He has been married for 28 years to Stephanie Giangiulio and they have one daughter, Amanda, who is a recent Penn State graduate.

Barbara Geraghty has maintained an active breeding and racing stable for many years and is a popular figure at both Parx and Penn National where she campaigns her homebreds. Barbara has been married to Bill Geraghty for more than 50 years and they have two sons, Bill, Jr. and Bryan.

The farm has been managed for the last 18 years by June Hillman. June brought her innate love of horses and a great depth of practical knowledge to the farm. She is experienced in all phases of producing, raising and preparing young racehorses as well as breaking and schooling horses for the racetrack and show ring. Her early years were spent training and riding show hunters and jumpers and she worked with such world renowned professionals as Major Jeremy Beale and Olympic team member, Todd Trewin. June resides on the farm with her husband of 20 years, Joe Hillman, and their son, Jason.
